Match Report
Glamal Engineering Stadium – Ebac Northern League Division 1.
Attendance – 92.
Chris Jewels bundled in an equaliser as an off-form Hebburn Town snatched a draw to leave Billingham Synthonia wondering how they weren’t out of sight and how they managed not to win a game they dominated for long periods of time.
Andy Jennings had fired Synners into the lead after 18 minutes after being released inside the box before firing past Dan Regan. The home side then had a number of chances to add to their goal tally, yet a combination of poor finishing and Regan saves kept the score at 1-0 at the interval, with Hebburn only managing one shot at goal during a dismal first half showing.
The second half started brighter for the visitors as they eventually started to string some passes together. Yet the equaliser was still a long time in coming.
A Jonny Davis corner after 68 minutes was half-cleared only as far as James Luccock lurking outside of the box. Luccock’s lobbed ball back into the six-yard box was then bundled in by Jewels to maintain his team’s undefeated away league record.
