Esh Winning V Hebburn Town
Saturday 23rd December Kick Off 3.00PM
Scott Oliver takes his side to Esh Winning on Saturday to face the “Stags” in a game which marks the start of the second half of the season. This is a vital game for the Hornets, who need a victory to kick start their season, and hopefully launch a much needed run of victories, to put them back in the race for promotion. The Hornets are in sixth place going into the second half of the season; the top of the table is very tight and there is still everything to play for. The Hornets have the quality and ability to beat any team in the league as proven by early season results.
Manager Scott Oliver comments:
“David Coulson and Scott Wallace miss the game through injury plus Iain Bickerstaff and Anthony Myers both face fitness tests after not being able to complete training this week. We are still awaiting international clearance for new signing John Sherlock who has joined us from Scottish side Lothian Thistle, and we hope we have him available. Striker Dan Robinson missed training through illness and I hope he is well enough to play on Saturday. Craig Malley is unavailable but Callum Smith returns from a lay-off due to a broken rib.
We have 3 games in a week, which is ideal for us to get our season going again. We have trained well lately and we are focused for the coming games. It is time for the players to play to their potential and if we cut out individual errors we will win plenty of games in the coming weeks. In our last game we defeated Esh Winning 3-0 in an Ernest Armstrong Cup-tie and we travel to Waterhouses Saturday knowing what we need to do. We also defeated Esh 3-0, in the corresponding home fixture earlier in the season, and will be looking to complete the double.”
