Club comment:

In the world of football, it isn’t very often that clubs know about a player leaving in advance, apart from contracts ending. Yes, we have the seven-day rule where other clubs can approach non-contracted players, but it isn’t always a guarantee that the player will leave.

Today though, we have a rare situation where we know one of our players is leaving. Hence the special programme cover we have.

This Saturday against Sunderland RCA is Mark Rasmussen’s final game (for now?) for Hebburn Town. Razza has already left his job and next week boards a flight to Australia and a new adventure for him, part of which will see him playing for Brisbane based side Bayside United.

Razza only arrived at the club during the summer having served North Shields so well for a number of years and immediately told us of his excitement to be involved with the Hornets. His professionalism, approach to every training session and match, and his influence and guidance, as well as integration, on the squad has been superb.

For that and for all of his efforts this season, everyone at Hebburn Town Football Club would like to say: thank you and good luck, Razza – hopefully we’ll able to say “G’day” to you again one day in the future.
