Brad Brooking has left Hebburn Town to sign for fellow Ebac Northern League Division 1 team Whitley Bay.

After signing during pre-season from Dunston UTS, right-back Brad made his Hebburn debut in the first game of the season when he started against Thackley. A second appearance followed from the bench when he appeared in the opening league defeat against Guisborough Town before another substitute appearance followed in the FA Cup defeat against Ossett Albion, during which he suffered a neck injury that prevented him being selected for the next few games.

Brad’s next appearance, his final one for the club, was in the Durham Challenge Cup victory over Darlington where he started the game and scored his only goal for Hebburn Town.

Manager Paul Bennett omitted Brad from the squad for the South Shields game when Whitley Bay made their approach hours before kick-off.

All at the club would like to wish Brad all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts this season.

In other transfer news, ex-Hornet Ben Miley, who recently left the club to gain match fitness at Ebac Northern League Division 1 side Washington, has left the Mechanics to sign for fellow Division 2 club Ryton & Crawcrook Albion.
